Leonardo transformed the common crossbow into a powerful automatic weapon. The giant treadmill is powered by a group of soldiers. The wooden plank at the left shields them from enemy fire. A single archer is suspended in the middle of the treadmill. All he has to do is wait for a crossbow to reach him, aim and fire.
